Sunday Drive: 1983 Lambo Countach

Holy cow, it’s a Countach! (Countach apparently means “holy cow” in Italian.) This is one of my very first infatuations. I fell in love with this “bad boy” from Italy way back when I spotted one on the streets of San Antonio. I practically snapped my neck looking back at it as it flew past. I remember we were in our Nissan Maxima at the time (1988), driving to a restaurant with our friend, Glenn. He made the comment to Robert, “Man, Joni looks like she just saw Jesus.” Robert replied, “She did, Glenn. That IS her god!”

I do love them. Would love to park my butt behind the wheel of this fine one! The first Countach was created in 1971, following on the heels of the Miura. Both created, of course, by Italian Furruccio Lamborghini.

The specs are for a 1989 Countach, the only specs I could locate, courtesy of Bohira, another Countach fan.
