I had been having severe pain in my upper left shoulder for several weeks. I figured I’d lugged one too many file boxes or reams of printer paper around. I was hoping it wasn’t some kind of rotator cuff injury that would require surgery and time off work like my friend just had.
Nope. I dodged THAT bullet. Turns out I have a nice case of the shingles. Right up and down my left arm. Not only do I wear my heart on my sleeve, but I am now wearing the stress of my job on my arm.
I have some pain medication and an antiviral to take thrice daily. Hopefully things will return to normal within a week or so. (So said the good doctor, anyway.) Well, what is really going to happen is that I’ll go back to work (I’m on vacation this week) and the stress will start up again. Ugh.
