1. What is your biggest pet peeve? Why?
People who blame anyone and everyone else for their lot in life. They also tend to be whiners. Take responsibility for your life, own up to your mistakes, learn from them (a bonus).
2. What irritating habits do you have?
I tend to be a perfectionist and this spills over into my interactions with others. I tend to be as hard on them as I would be on myself. That’s not being fair to them. Everyone has his/her own standard by which they measure themselves. It’s not right to be measured using someone else’s yardstick!
3. Have you tried to change the irritating habits or just let them be?
A lot of the time, it can be a GOOD thing, but because of it, I also tend to get mired down in the minutiae. “Majoring in the minors,” as a friend once told me! If something I do really bothers someone I care about, I make a conscious decision to back off a bit. Oh, I forgot to mention, the OTHER thing about me that is annoying (according to Robert, anyway) is that when I cook, I use the sink as a “garbage disposal,” a repository for discarded egg shells, margarine/butter wrappers, etc. It drives him nuts. I try not to do this too much. One way of solving that is simply not to cook!
4. What grosses you out more than anything else? Why?
Roadkill, seeing animals being killed or hurt. Humans, could care less…. Not really, but it is always more heart-wrenching (to me anyway), to see an animal “get it.” A lot of the time, humans bring their grief on themselves…. Animals (like children, in Da Goddess‘s Friday Five) are innocents.
5. What one thing can you never see yourself doing that other people do?
Having kids, raising a family. Fortunately, fate stepped in to ensure that would not happen … just in time!
