I am pretty addicted, but there is hope. I think I’m just well connected to the internet and technology, but it’s really a start of a drug-like addiction. I must act now! Unplug this computer!
Take the Internet Addict Test at fuali.com Actually, there was one question which they omitted from the test and which I think would be a fairly telling indication of your degree of addiction: Do you have more than one ISP? And I’d have to answer “yes” to that one. I have a local-yokel service (Compassnet), which is pretty cheap, $20.11 a month. The great thing is they are small enough that when you beep them with a problem, they call you back right away and they KNOW me! (Not because I beep them very much, but I guess because our account name is odd, “rojo” — ROberto and JOni). So that’s nice. But I also have a Prodigy account because when we travel, I take the laptop on vacation and this way I can get access from just about anywhere. Although, last summer when we were vacationing on Dauphin Island (Alabama), there were no local numbers available (it was pretty remote and I really liked it and would LOVE to go back soon!), so I had to use Prodigy’s 800-number. THAT was an experience. I’m spoiled with unlimited Internet access, so having to deal with metered service and watch my minutes was a whole new experience. Ima Internet Hogg. P.S. And Crackhead is now in the personal dictionary. Woot.
