I confess. I am. I am addicted. I cannot help myself, cannot stop.
I bought another domain this morning. I kept fiddling with the design on this site. I knew that, despite all good advice to the contrary, I wanted a splash page. I also wanted a static design for my photo gallery (because I’m too stupid to figure out how to embed it into anything else). But want the option of skinning the rest of the site. Anal little thing that I am, I just can’t have a site broken up by different designs in different sections.
I know. The logic of this escapes you, right? You’re thinking, “Okay, she loves to skin the site. And she’s been known to put almost a hundred different designs out there. What’s the problem here?” Dammit, I want the entire site to look the same. And if I can’t have that. . . .
The obvious solution? Do what I’d done before. Have the blog in one place, all it’s own. And have the main (vanity) site elsewhere. So the gallery will stay at jonimueller.com, and the blog (and its acoutrements, e.g., about me, 100 things, etc.) will be at a new domain. . . .
Did you think I was going to tell you that NOW!? Oh, just you wait. . . . Plus, I’m still fiddling around with WordPress. One thing I love about it is the fact that it doesn’t take up as much room on the server as (ahem) my previous blogging tool. So look for some chh-chh-chhanges around here soon as I work on some skins and move my WordPress blog to its new home.
Okay, back to our regularly scheduled programming.
