Carly steadfastly (and wisely) refuses to divulge who the song is about. For to do that, to tell that story, to finally solve that riddle… would take away from the mystique. Or perhaps she (rightly) thought that anyone still worrying about what she wrote in 1972 a whole century later (well, you know what I mean!) needs to get a life.
