Acting on a tip from a satisfied DreamHost customer, I have decided to move this blog to DreamHost. It doesn’t have a fancy cPanel interface, but it seems pretty easy to navigate and it offers maximum uptime and very affordable pricing. I was looking at shelling out almost $300 for six months of dodgy service as opposed to $22 (after a nice new-customer discount) for a year’s worth of great service and much more server space. Hmm. Let me think about that for a while! It was truly a no-brainer!
This will be my last post on this side; I’ve already uploaded all my site files to the DreamHost site, I just need to change joniverse.com’s DNS servers, which will propagate in about 24 hours or so. Then you may see a placeholder page right before I import the MySQL database to the newly propagated site. See you all on the other side!
Update: Looks like we made it to the other side! Let me know if anything is amiss (awry? agog?). But since I just plopped the database from the old webhost into the new database, everything should be fine.
